  2. I wonder who it was who stuck the first piece of gum there? and, How old that piece of gum is? and, How many pieces of gum it took become the official "gum wall"? Totally a Seattle highlight!

  4. t was so cool i wanted to touch it - think of the textures.
it was so colourful that i wanted to eat it - think of the flavours.
it was so germ-infested that i wanted to look away - think of the disease.
yet, there i was mesmerized; i didn't touch or taste it though, ha.

@ Lucy - it was started by a small number of theatre-artists in Seattle, theatre janitorial staff slaved away cleaning it up, but shortly after the clean-up the gum was reapplied to the wall. theatre janitors again, scrapped the gum off, after this - they gave up. Market officials declared it a tourist attraction around 1999, since then people have been adding gum, little by little. Some people even create little scenes and pictures with their gum.
